Publer vs PostSider: Checklist or Workflow?

Choose Publer if you want the most built-in features for the least money: a free plan, AI writing, image editing and RSS automation, priced per account from $5 a month. Choose PostSider if you run a repeatable publishing loop (draft, approve, queue, publish) across 30+ networks with flat channel pricing, and want an AI agent drafting into the same approval queue as your team. Both now have an API and an MCP server; Publer puts them on Business, PostSider on every paid plan.

I build PostSider, so this has a clear bias. Publer is a real alternative and in several situations the better purchase.

Publer: the long feature checklist at a low price

Publer’s free plan covers 3 social accounts, without X. Professional starts at $5 a month for one account and adds X, unlimited scheduling and drafts, and bulk scheduling. Business starts at $10 a month for one account and adds unlimited AI Assist prompts, advanced analytics, competitor analysis, recurring posts, the API and the MCP server. Professional has a 7-day trial and Business a 14-day trial.

Because Publer prices per account, your bill depends on the selector: add accounts and members, and every tenth one is free. I am not going to quote a 10-account total I cannot verify; run your own count on the plans page.

The feature list is wide: bulk scheduling of up to 500 posts at once, RSS automation, post recycling, analytics and reports, best-time and hashtag suggestions, AI Assist, image editing, media storage, and workspaces with a two-tier approval system for teams and clients.

Publer also ships an MCP server now. Its help center describes connecting Claude to create drafts, schedule posts and read analytics, with either OAuth or an API key, on Business and Enterprise. So “PostSider has MCP and Publer does not” is no longer a true sentence, and I removed it from this post.

PostSider: the publishing loop is the product

PostSider starts from a narrower question: what happens between an idea and a published post?

1. Content enters as a draft, from a person or an agent.
2. The AI post checker flags problems.
3. The right person approves it.
4. The queue places it into the next free slot.
5. The platform publishes it, and the operator checks status and analytics.

Around that loop sit multi-organization workspaces, Admin and User roles, per-platform previews and caption variants, the REST API, @postsider/node, and the MCP server. Chat clients connect to mcp.postsider.com/mcp with OAuth; terminal agents like Claude Code and Codex run @postsider/mcp locally with an API key.

The agent part matters. PostSider has no built-in writer or image generator. Your agent stays in your own environment, creates a draft, checks it, finds a free slot, and leaves the approval with a person. The dashboard stays there for anyone who would rather click than type.

PostSider uses flat tiers, but it still caps channels. I would not call it unlimited.

Choose Publer when

• You need a free plan, or you manage one brand on a handful of accounts.
• You want AI to write the posts, not just check them.
• You want image editing, watermarks and RSS feeds in the same tool.
• Your workflow is mostly human-operated and cost is the main constraint.

Choose PostSider when

• You run client approvals as a routine step and want them in the same flow as the queue.
• An AI agent drafts posts, and you want MCP and API access from the $20 plan instead of a higher tier.
• You publish to networks outside the usual set, such as Mastodon, Reddit, Discord, Nostr or developer blogs.
• You want flat channel tiers instead of a per-account bill that grows with each client.

My decision rule

Use Publer when you are buying a broad set of built-in features for a low monthly cost. Use PostSider when you are buying a publishing process that has to hold up across people, queues, client workspaces and AI agents.
