Agorapulse Alternative for Small Agencies
I build PostSider, so treat this as a biased comparison and check every number against Agorapulse’s own pricing page before you spend anything. The question I get from small agencies is almost never about features. It is about the invoice, because Agorapulse prices per user, per month, at the same rate for every seat, and nothing in that arrangement gets cheaper as the team grows. A 3-person agency on Advanced is looking at roughly 3 x $149 a month on annual billing, about $5,364 a year before add-ons. X is a separate paid add-on now, extra profiles are $10 each per month on annual billing, and the approval features that make agency work survivable start on Professional at $119 per user per month. My product makes the opposite bet: flat tiers, an agent bridge on every plan, and no unified inbox, which is a real gap I will get to.
In short:
- Agorapulse bills the same rate for every seat, so Standard is $79, Professional $119 and Advanced $149 per user per month on annual billing, each including 1 user and 10 shared profile slots. Three seats on Advanced is about $5,364 a year before add-ons.
- Approvals start on Professional at $119 per user per month, X sits outside the plans at $29 per X profile per month for publishing only or $69 with inbox and reports, and extra social profiles cost $10 each per month on annual billing.
- PostSider Team is $35/mo for 10 channels, unlimited posts and unlimited team members, with the MCP server, REST API and SDK on every plan including $20 Standard. It also ships no unified inbox, and that trade is the whole decision.
Agorapulse charges per seat first, and the tenth teammate costs exactly what the first one cost
Pricing is per user, per month, at the same rate for every seat, and each additional user is charged at the rate of the first. A plan includes 1 user and 10 shared social profile slots, so hiring a coordinator adds a bill line and zero profiles.
That model is clean for a company growing slowly and awkward for an agency, where the second and third seat is usually a junior doing scheduling work rather than someone who brings revenue. One seat on Advanced runs $1,788 a year. Three is $5,364. The profile side is billed separately: the 10 slots are shared across the whole account, and extra profiles are $10 each per month on annual billing and $15 on monthly, which starts to matter the moment your clients bring more than one network each.
The real bill for a 3-person agency is about $5,364 a year before a single add-on
On annual billing, 3 seats on Advanced is 3 x $149, roughly $5,364 a year. Three seats on Professional is 3 x $119, about $4,284 a year, and three on Standard is 3 x $79, about $2,844.
| Line | Standard | Professional | Advanced | PostSider Team |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rate per user, annual billing | $79/mo | $119/mo | $149/mo | $35/mo flat |
| 3 seats, per month | $237 | $357 | $447 | $35 |
| 3 seats, per year | $2,844 | $4,284 | $5,364 | $420 |
| Shared profile slots included | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 channels |
| Internal comments and 1-step approval | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Publishing queue and bulk approve | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Extra profile | $10/mo each | $10/mo each | $10/mo each | Channels capped by tier |
| X profile | $29 or $69/mo each | Same | Same | No X surcharge |
Annual billing is the basis for all of it, because Agorapulse’s monthly rates are higher: $99, $149 and $199 per user respectively. Pay monthly at three seats on Advanced and the bill is $597 a month, $7,164 a year. Then add-ons arrive. An agency with 8 clients averaging two profiles each needs 16 profiles, which is 6 over the included 10 at $10 each, so $60 a month more. If five of those clients are on X at the publishing-only tier of $29 per X profile, that is $145 a month. A realistic three-person Advanced bill lands near $652 a month. The per-channel side of that math is worth running against your own client list; I worked through its shape in the per-channel pricing tax for agencies.
Approvals are the line item that decides most of these switches
Drafts and a shared calendar ship on every paid tier, but internal comments and simple one-step approval workflows start on Professional at $119 per user per month. Bulk approve, publishing queues, post labels and recommended publishing times start on Advanced at $149 per user per month.
Multi-step approval chains and custom roles are Custom, which is quote-priced, so the agency workflow with two reviewers does not have a published price at all. For a 3-person team the approvals-ready floor is $357 a month on Professional or $447 on Advanced, before anyone needs an extra profile or an X connection. PostSider’s draft, review and approve flow sits on Team at $35 a month with no seat count attached, and it lives inside the publishing system rather than next to it: the approved post lands in the queue in the same step instead of being handed back to a calendar.
X left the plans, so every client on X is now its own line item
X is sold outside the plans as a paid add-on: X Lite at $29 per X profile per month covers publishing, and X Plus at $69 per X profile per month adds inbox and reports. Extra social profiles are a separate $10 per month each on annual billing, $15 on monthly.
Six client X profiles on the publishing-only tier is $174 a month, which is more than the whole PostSider account costs at Team. One honest note on sourcing: Agorapulse’s pricing page FAQ still references a free plan that was retired on 2026-07-06 and replaced by a free Archie tier, 1 owner plus Archie-only users, 50 profiles on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn only, 10 credits a month. The trial is 30 days on the pricing page and 15 days plus a 15-day extension in the help centre, and the X add-on price differs between the help centre and the X integration page. Check the figure on the page you are buying from.
Agorapulse’s inbox is deeper than mine, and for a community-management agency that is the product
The unified inbox, comment moderation, Google reviews moderation, inbox search, inline translation and automated moderation at 1 rule per profile are on every paid tier. PostSider ships no unified inbox and no review moderation at all.
Say that without decoration: if a client pays you to answer comments and DMs, PostSider is not the tool for that half of the retainer, and you should keep paying for something that is. The depth here is real. Assignments, ad-comment moderation, collision detection and custom inbox views start on Professional, saved replies, bulk inbox and inbox labels start on Advanced, and AI reply suggestions plus business hours are Custom only, so even inside Agorapulse the deepest inbox work is quote-priced.
Reporting and the certification paperwork are where Agorapulse justifies the premium
Profile and post reports, community-management reporting, a basic Google Analytics ROI report and white-label exports are on Standard with 6 months of retention, team performance reporting is on Professional with 12 months, and cross-network group reports, custom date comparison, PPTX export, ads reporting and Report Studio are on Advanced with 24 months.
Report Studio launched on 2026-07-29 and legacy Custom Reports were removed at the end of September 2026, so if a monthly client template of yours was built on the old Custom Reports, rebuild it before the next cycle. PostSider’s analytics coverage varies by platform and it is not a reporting product the way Agorapulse is, and if the monthly client report is your bottleneck I timed that loop separately in a monthly client report in 45 minutes. For the analytics comparison itself, Metricool versus PostSider on analytics against publishing is the post I wrote for that decision. The other place Agorapulse wins is paperwork. Their monitoring page states SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 certification, hosting in AWS Ireland, RBAC and audit logs, a 99.9% uptime target, enforced 2FA at organization level since January 2026, and tier-based first-response times of under 6 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour and 30 minutes. Those are their claims, and when a client’s procurement team sends a questionnaire, claims with a certification behind them are worth real money. They also state that over 31,000 social media managers and over 3,000 agencies use the product daily. On the automation side, the Reports Open API is read-only and Custom plan only, capped at 500 requests per 30 minutes, while the MCP server is in beta over OAuth at api.openmcp.agorapulse.com/mcp and their help centre says it can create drafts but does not automatically publish content.
PostSider prices the team instead of the seat, and that is the whole structural difference
Standard is $20/mo for 5 channels and 1 seat, Team is $35/mo for 10 channels with unlimited posts and unlimited team members, Pro is $45/mo for 30 channels, and Ultimate is $90/mo for 100 channels. Tiers cap channels, so the honest claim is flat predictable tiers rather than no limits, and annual billing takes 20% off list, which puts Team at $28/mo.
Add a designer or a client-side reviewer and the price does not move, because seats are not the unit being sold. Channels are the unit, so an agency past 30 client channels is looking at Ultimate rather than adding profiles one at a time. The agent bridge ships on every plan, including the $20 tier. The MCP server is @postsider/mcp over stdio, run with npx @postsider/mcp and a POSTSIDER_API_KEY, and it exposes 19 tools including create post, update post status, request approval and get approval status. That last pair is the point: an agent can hand a draft to a human approver instead of publishing it. The REST API under /public/v1 and the @postsider/node package sit alongside it, webhooks are HMAC-SHA256 signed with 3 delivery attempts, and the per-organization rate limit is 60 requests a minute. AI inside the product is the Post Checker and a caption rewrite, with no built-in post generator, so if you want software that writes the posts for you, this is not it.
When to stay on Agorapulse and when to switch
Stay if you sell community management, meaning inbox replies, comment moderation and Google review work, or if a client’s procurement process needs SOC 2 and ISO 27001 paperwork from the vendor you buy from. Switch if your repeatable week is drafting, approving and publishing posts, and you are paying per seat for inbox features nobody on the team opens.
Run the arithmetic on your own two biggest lines, seats and profiles, then add X. A 3-person agency on Advanced with 16 profiles and five X clients is around $652 a month, and the equivalent shape on PostSider Pro at $45/mo is $45. You give up the inbox, which is also what you stop paying for, and that symmetry is the decision. If a client’s retainer depends on reviews moderation, stay and pay it. If the community side is not something you sell, the seat-based bill is buying you a suite you use a fraction of. The middle path works too: keep Agorapulse for the community side, run publishing and approvals on flat tiers, and price the two against a single Advanced subscription before you commit. If you would rather compare features than invoices, Publer versus PostSider is the post where I stop talking about money. The pricing page has all four tiers with the 7-day trial terms on each.

Frequently asked questions
Is PostSider cheaper than Agorapulse for a 3-person agency?
On annual billing, 3 seats on Agorapulse Advanced is about $5,364 a year, and 3 seats on Professional, the tier where approvals start, is about $4,284 a year. PostSider Team is $35/mo with unlimited team members, 10 channels and approvals, or $28/mo paid yearly. Add-ons widen the gap: extra Agorapulse profiles are $10 a month each on annual billing, and X is $29 or $69 per X profile per month.
Does Agorapulse charge extra for X/Twitter?
Yes. X sits outside the plans. X Lite at $29 per X profile per month covers publishing only, and X Plus at $69 per X profile per month adds inbox and reports. Six client X profiles on the publishing-only tier is $174 a month on top of seat and profile costs. PostSider connects X as part of the plan.
Which Agorapulse tier do I need for client approvals?
Professional, at $119 per user per month on annual billing, for internal comments and simple one-step approval workflows. Bulk approve, publishing queues and post labels start on Advanced at $149 per user per month, and multi-step approval chains plus custom roles are Custom, which is quote-priced. PostSider's draft, review and approve flow is on Team at $35 a month.
Does PostSider have a unified social inbox?
No. PostSider does not ship a unified inbox or review moderation. Agorapulse puts its unified inbox, comment moderation, Google reviews moderation, inbox search and inline translation on every paid tier, so an agency selling community management should keep a tool for that part of the retainer.
Can an AI agent publish through PostSider?
It can, but the approval tools are the useful part. The MCP server ships on every plan including the $20 Standard tier, exposes 19 tools, and includes request approval and get approval status, so an agent hands a draft to a human approver instead of publishing it.
